Arizona YFL Phoenix AYF is proud to celebrate academic excellence!
Every Arizona YFL football player and cheerleader is eligible to participate in the Scholar Baller Academic Recognition Program.
WHY BECOME A SCHOLAR BALLER?
ACHIEVE SCHOLAR BALLER STATUS
Student-athletes achieving 80% or higher will earn Scholar Baller Status and receive recognition and a medal corresponding to their Scholar Baller Achievement Level.
ATTEND A SPECIAL CARDINALS TAILGATE
Qualifying Scholar Ballers will be invited to the Arizona YFL / Arizona Cardinals Tailgate Games on November 29th at State Farm Stadium, including Scholar Baller recognition and an on-field experience.
ATTEND SCHOLAR BALLER BANQUET
Date & Details to Be Announced. Invitations will be sent to qualifying Scholar Ballers once event details are finalized.
GAIN NATIONAL AYF ACADEMIC RECOGNITION
Arizona YFL will review Scholar Baller submissions to identify student-athletes who may also qualify for National AYF Academic Achievement Alliance (AAA) recognition. No additional action is required at this time. Families of qualifying student-athletes will be contacted separately with National AYF requirements, forms and next steps.
THE APPLICATION SUBMISSION PROCESS?
1. Get Your Report Card
Locate your complete report card for the 2025–2026 school year (Fall 2025 and Spring 2026).
2. Convert Your Grades Using the AYF Grade Conversion Chart
Refer to the AYF grading scale conversion chart and convert your grades to the appropriate numerical values. Calculate grades for each applicable subject area:

Language Arts — English, Foreign Languages, Reading, Writing, Grammar, etc.

Math — Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, General Math, etc.

Social Sciences — Social Studies, Civics, History, Geography, etc.

Sciences — General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, etc.

Humanities — Art, Music, Religion, Industrial Arts, Vocational Science, etc.

Physical Education — Health, Citizenship, etc.
3. Calculate Your Subject Area Averages
Convert each grade to a numerical value using the AYF conversion chart. For each applicable subject area, calculate the average of the numerical grades.
4. Determine Your Overall Percentage
Add the averages from each applicable subject area and divide by the number of subject areas included on your report card. This is your Scholar Baller academic percentage.
5. Submit the Online Scholar Baller Form
Enter your grade conversion information and overall percentage into the Scholar Baller Submission Form.
All submissions must be completed by Sunday, October 25, 2026
